In 2002, during one of the most difficult chapters of our lives, I painted this canvas with my mother. She was in the midst of an exhausting fight against pancreatic cancer—a battle she faced with unwavering strength and grace. Even after long, grueling days of chemotherapy, when her body was drained and weary, she still found the will to be creative.

The hospital had become our second home. Each day felt like walking through fire just to reach a place of feeling “okay.” But my mother met it all with quiet dignity, radiant courage, and a spirit that refused to dim.

That painting session wasn’t just about art—it was a moment of connection, a glimpse of her enduring light. In her hands, I saw resilience. In her eyes, I saw love and bravery. And through the brushstrokes we shared, I saw hope.

This image captures her essence—her strength reaching through the flames of illness, breaking through pain with courage and heart. It’s not just a memory; it’s a symbol of everything she was to me: my guide, my greatest teacher, and the reason I do the work I do today.

I dedicated my career to her then, and I carry her with me still. Her hands—her spirit—are part of my logo, and part of every healing touch I offer. Her legacy lives in me and through every person I help.
